Mac & Erika Browning Recipient of Good Neighbor Award

DUNCANVILLE, TEXAS – Duncanville residents Mac & Erika Browning have been recognized as the May 2018 Good Neighbors of the Month, an award presented by Loving Community, a Dallas-Fort Worth neighborhood advocacy group. The monthly award is given to individuals or businesses who exemplify an outstanding neighboring spirt and involvement in their local community.

The Brownings, both local realtors for TRT Realty, a Duncanville based real estate company serving the Southwest Dallas area, moved to Duncanville along with their children Michaela and Josiah in 2013. Their road here was anything but usual.

With a deeply held faith and value of others, in 2009 the Brownings moved some 7,000 miles away from home and invested four years living and working as missionaries with Wycliffe Bible translators in the Kurdish region of West Asia. That bold move exemplifies the heart and motivation of these good neighbors. Mac and Erika literally go the extra mile to serve and show love to others.

Upon returning and settling in Duncanville, Erika earned her real estate license and Mac utilized his educational and leadership background to teach and lead in local schools, recently choosing real estate as well. Their career paths have allowed them to continue to serve others and engage in their community.

Jim Mustain, Executive Director of Loving Community commented, “I first met Erika and Mac via Forge Dallas, a faith based neighboring organization whose goal is to train the everyday person to live as ‘good news’ in the places they live, work, and play. They were naturals with a heart for others! I’m excited for their journey and how they are going to be such a blessing as they serve their community of Duncanville”!

The Brownings are recent graduates of Forge Dallas, current participants in the Duncanville Citizen’s Police Academy, and active leaders in Faith Bible Church in Desoto. They are training to become marriage mentors, volunteer in Duncanville community events, and conduct interviews with local businesses highlighting them on their social media links.

Loving Community’s Good Neighbor award is sponsored by Gaylene Anders of Ebby Halliday Realtors in honor of Ebby Halliday Acers who consistently modeled her life on the principle of “Do something for someone every day.”
