How You Can Help Loving Community
In many ways, your time can be much more valuable than any monetary donation that you can give. Loving Community has a million things to do, but never enough people to do them all. By volunteering your time, you can help Loving Community better reach our goals. Many people balk at this idea because they assume that this means that they’ll need to physically be at Loving Community or one of our volunteer sites to do this. This shouldn’t be something that stops you. Contact us and let us know that you want to help, but aren’t able to physically be there. Due to the wonders of the Internet, Loving Community will still have a variety tasks that you can do to help us out from home.
In the same way as your time is of great value, your skills may be more valuable than your money, and you may not even realize it. Loving Community is always on the lookout for people who have special skills, and even if your skill set doesn’t seem to be applicable, you never know. You can contact Loving Community and ask if we have any use for your particular skills.
If you are able to donate financially, or know someone who is, please contact us or simply visit our website at https://loving-community.net/donation/ You can donate by check, credit card or ACH bank withdraw. Loving Community is a 501(c)(3) public charity and all donations are tax deductible.
Employee Volunteer Plans
Employee volunteering is when employees perform work in the community with some form of support and/or encouragement from their employer. Many employers find that nurturing volunteerism in their organizations leads to improved corporate environments, as well as increased employee satisfaction. Loving Community is glad to work with employers to help set up an Employee Volunteer Plan (EVP) We then “become the handshake” to connect, train, and guide the partnering process between those who have need, employee groups who can meet those needs. Think of us as “volunteer brokers”! Our goal is to make volunteering easy.
Employer Matching Gift Program
Many employers believe in improving the communities in which their employees live and work. If you donate money to Loving Community your company may match your donation up to a certain amount. All you have to do is ask to see if they have a matching gift plan. If so, they can guide you through the process. Many employers must verify and approve the organization. Loving Community is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Let us know if we can help in this process.
There is a good chance that you have more than a few gift cards stuck in drawers that you haven’t used. Instead of leaving them there to be forgotten, they may be useful to Loving Community. Gift cards to well know retail stores will always be welcome because they will defray the cost of purchasing items Loving Community clients may need. Even gift cards for things that may not seem to be related might be of use for events or as an incentive to volunteers. The best way to find out is to call Loving Community and ask if we would have any use of it.
Social Media like Facebook/Twitter
There are actually a number of ways that you can help Loving Community through social media like Facebook and Twitter. The most obvious is that you can post and share information about Loving Community so that all of your friends and family can see us. You can also comment and like posts by Loving Community on our Facebook page so more people can learn about us. Much like Facebook, Twitter offers a couple of opportunities for you to get the word out. Simply tweeting about Loving Community to all of your followers can help. Retweeting tweets from Loving Community can also be a big help. None of these takes a whole lot of time, but it helps get the word out and promote Loving Community.
No matter which way that you become involved with Loving Community, the mere fact that you become involved will help. Being involved, you’ll automatically share your experiences to others through casual conversations and daily random meetings. This sharing can go a long way to gain more local support for Loving Community. In addition, when you put yourself among people who have similar interests and are seeking the same goals as yourself, it’s a great way to meet contacts in an area where you are passionate. For this reason alone, I highly encourage anyone to go beyond writing a check and figure out other ways you can help support the Loving Community cause.
