Volunteer Your Time – Help A Child – Lewisville ISD Back to School Fair
As a child I can remember the the excitement of back to school – maybe you can too? New clothes, new shoes, new hair cuts, new school supplies, etc… Sadly however this is NOT the case for all kiddos. In our communities some 4,000 Lewisville ISD students will NOT have the opportunity to begin school with some of these items without OUR help.
The Back to School Fair is scheduled for Saturday, August 5th at Lewisville High School and is a collaborative effort with community businesses, non-profits, and civic organizations to give students in the Lewisville Independent School District the supplies and resources to start the school year off right.
It is our belief that all children should have the same opportunity as their peers to be successful in school. By volunteering and/or donating you are helping economically-disadvantaged students realize their opportunity. Every dollar given goes to provide children with a new backpack and required school supplies. Students can also receive free vision exams, sports physicals, immunizations, haircuts and information on student aid and after-school programs.
Author Max Lucado said, “No one can do everything but everyone can do something.” That’s our hope, that MANY will do something by volunteering or donating. Will you consider doing something? I am.
Below are the links to volunteer or to make a financial donation. Volunteering can be done on the day of the Fair (August 5) or in advance to help set up (July 28, 29, August 4) A volunteer orientation is required.
