So what’s some your New Year’s goals? Better health? More adventure? Helping others? Well if that’s you, Hike to Help 2019 on January 12-13 checks all the boxes!
Loving Hiking, a community initiative of Loving Community is sponsoring our fourth annual “Hike to Help” to raise funds and benefit the boys and girls of our mentoring initiatives, Boys2Men, Grow Girls and Men of Distinction. The cost of the trip is $200 which includes all expenses, two customized Hike to Help stainless steel double-wall vacuum insulated tumblers, and provides a donation toward the mentoring initiatives.
This year’s two-day, one night (Saturday and Sunday) hike will be on the beautiful and historic Old Military Road portion of the Ouachita Trail in the Ouachita National Forest of Southern Oklahoma. We will cover approximately 8 miles during the two days and this is a moderately rated difficulty level hike. Hiking gear (backpacks, sleeping bags, tents, etc..) are available for loan from our Outfitter and Guide, Roger Garrett.
We’re one week away and still have a few more spots for some guys and gals to join us. We will leave early Saturday morning and return late Sunday afternoon. The temperatures are IDEAL for this year’s hike with lows of 32 and highs of 53 degrees.
