Got You Covered Mr. President – Men of Distinction and Boys2 Men Kick-Off

“We need a renewed emphasis on civic learning in schools. And our young people need positive role models. Bullying and prejudice in our public life sets a national tone, provides permission for cruelty and bigotry, and compromises the moral education of children. The only way to pass along civic values is to first live up to them.” ~ George W. Bush’s speech excerpt delivered Oct. 19, 2017 at the at the “Spirit of Liberty: At Home, In The World” event in New York.

Grateful this week via Loving Community to join with twenty other men at the Lewisville High School Harmon campus and Creekside Elementary School to pass along and model civic values such as respect, empathy, accountability, loyalty, nobility, work habits, community service, etc…

It was Frederick Douglass, an African-American statesman who campaigned throughout his life for equality of all people regardless of background, who said, “I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong. And it is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.

With the encouragement from current and past statesmen, the volunteers of Loving Community and Lewisville ISD proudly unite together for the building of strong children in our community.

Loving Community,

Jim
